How To – Repurposing Vintage for Fall (or All Seasons) Decor

We love all of our vintage finds but they can sometimes get boring and need to be given a new purpose. Here are a few ideas to re-purpose for your fall decor, but they all work just as well if you change your botanicals for something appropriate to the season.

Do you have an old trophy cup laying around? Use a flower frog or foam, add some moss and fall blooms for a beautiful fall floral centerpiece.

Grab that large metal spice, flour or cookie tin and load it up with dried branches and flowers for a beautiful fall arrangement.

Are you fond of the large old wooden spools? Try grouping them together with dried branches inserted in the center and surrounded by pinecones for an unusual Fall tablescape. (Just remember if you are using real flowers that the hole must be large enough to accommodate a floral water tube).

I think we all have at least one old metal grater box (aka cheese grater). They make adorable luminaries! I use the battery operated votives or tealight candles for this to keep from discoloring the interior of the grater and to keep the grater from getting scorching hot. You may want to try a string of the fairy lights as they would tuck up inside nicely. Tuck in some fall blooms for a lovely centerpiece.
