If I were redecorating my reading nook, these are a few of the pieces I would choose. Why? Because they are simple, stylish and timeless, all-important hallmarks of well designed vintage.

Offered by Sputnik Furniture on Etsy,  $500

And this? I’m not a fan of recliners but do admit that putting my feet up while reading has its allure. This piece can do double duty as a vanity stool which makes it an even better investment for a homeowner who believes in rearranging.

Finishing off my reading nook with a sophisticated ceramic horse plus a sweet clock from the 1960s and a few pieces of MCM barware. As the old saying goes “it’s happy hour somewhere”.
