Happy vintage St. Patty’s Day. When I think of St. Patrick’s Day, I think of Ireland, and when I think of Ireland, I think of Irish linen. A few weeks ago, I was at an estate sale where I found a set of Irish linen damask napkins in green and white shamrock print. They were absolutely precious, though not exactly what I was looking for. I purchased them anyway, since they were in the original box and, well, I am a vintage seller. So home they came.
The whole scenario got me thinking about how much I love Irish linen and that St. Patty’s Day was right around the corner. So I thought I would round up a few more vintage Irish linens that fit the theme. Here they are, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Oh, and those napkins are for sale if you so desire.
This Irish linen tea towel depicts some of the ancient treasures of Ireland. It’s a fun way to include a bit of Irish history along with your daily dish drying.
How fun is this Leprechaun? He would be a great conversation starter on St Patty’s Day. His impish cockeyed smile tells me he may be up to no good. What do you think?
For those who collect or use hankies, here is a gorgeous embroidered Irish linen hanky with green shamrocks and a pot o’ gold. Useful anytime but especially on St. Patty’s Day.
