When it was high school prom time, I had two challenges. One was whether or not some guy would ask me to the prom and the other is finding a suitable gown or dress for my then skinny torso and petite height. My two older sisters were easily five inches taller and more filled out than me, and none of us were gifted with sewing skills to make or alter a dress they wore to fit me. So this is my fantasy shopping trip to see if I can find something great.

I love this light pink organdy gown. The detail on the bodice and the sleeveless style would allow me to wear long gloves and feel like a princess. Onassis Glam is offering this sweet gown for $145 on Etsy.

This would be the gown that my traditional parents would be happy to see me in, and I would be thrilled to wear it as well. I like the color of the lace and fabric would add length with its simplicity and I love that bow! For $70, you can wear this. On Etsy at The Black Lotus Vintage.

I might need tiny straps added to this lovely tulle dress because i might not fill out the chest area with my strapless training bra. A girl can dream though, for such a dreamy dress. It is ruffly and is turquoise in color. One superpower I had was that my blue/grey/green eyes would mirror and intensify a color like this. Look! Good Eye LLC has this beauty available on Etsy for $160.

Okay, now for earrings. Dangle earrings were popular, since our hair, if it was long enough, would be in an updo. We would want to wear something longer on our ears. Pearls went with just about anything. I did not have my ears pierced until college. I chose these clip on pearl danglers, which could have been a pair my mom owned. Historically Hers is selling these on Etsy for $29.

To finish my head to toe prom fantasy, I would want to wear this pair of gold lame shoes with low heels. I am a klutz, so the spiky heels would be disastrous for me when I would so much like to walk gracefully. The heels will still give me a little boost in height and grace, and are waiting to be worn at the Etsy shop The Eclectic Goddess for $55.
These are my favorite fantasy items. Why not search for your own prom outfit. It is great fun!
