The things of which memories are made, we’ve got them in this week’s fresh to market vintage.
Sheet music is the way musicians of all abilities bring home the hits. Before the early days of radio stations in the 1920s, you kept up on popular music by visiting the music store and seeing the newest sheet music. It’s still a way to play your favorites, including pop music and songs from Broadway musicals, movies and TV shows. Not a player but love to remember your favorite songs? The front cover of sheet music has the same artistic appeal as an LP album cover, it looks great framed.
The Hawaii collection is another memory maker, treasures tucked into suitcases and brought home to remember the vacation of a lifetime. While souvenir plates are reasonably easy-to-find collectibles, the round metal tray is less common. Imagine a wall full of trays from your favorite states.
Finally, the stories those glass pearls could tell. You know with that rhinestone clasp it was saved for best and worn only on special occasions. We fully support wearing your best things as often as you want. This necklace would look as good with jeans as it would with satin.
Let’s get rolling, here are this week’s fresh to market vintage picks.
1970s Sailing Silkscreen Print
The action in this silkscreen print with watercolor by C. Ray Bryan is awesome. You can feel the wind in the sails and the power as the boat slices through the waves. So much nautical art is static and posed like a harbor scene or a ship’s “beauty shot,” both of which can be glorious. But the feeling of motion and intensity in this piece is completely different, more like an action sports illustration. It’s energetic art, if there is such a thing.

Triple Strand Glass Pearls
Nothing speaks to elegant fashion like a beautiful strand of pearls. While these pearls are glass, they are chic and that fabulous rhinestone clasp just begs to be shown off with a gorgeous updo or classic bob cut. The triple strand of graduated pearls in a choker length is always fashionable.
