We are shaking off the last vestiges of winter in this week’s fresh to market vintage and we are putting the emphasis on fresh, fresh, fresh. Nothing staid or stuffy need apply. The strawberry brooch looks juicy enough to sink your teeth into. The Lotte pattern china is airy and light. Toast and eggs in the egg cups, the windows open so the spring breeze blows in (but not the pollen because this is our magical vision), what a way to start a Sunday. Our guardian angel looks a little worried, but she’s got her lucky ladybug. She’ll be happier before she knows it. And imagine those milk-stemmed cordials with a brightly colored summery aperatif poured with a tiny hint of icy seltzer.
The grass is green, the pollen is yellow, the air is fresh…that’s what we think of this week’s fresh to market vintage, what do you think?
Rhinestone Strawberry Brooch
Nothing reminds me of the warmer weather more than seeing strawberries at the grocery store. This juicy red strawberry brooch serves as a reminder that it’s always summer somewhere in the world. The bright red rhinestones and green enamel stem look almost good enough to eat.
Red Rhinestone Strawberry Brooch, $23.95

Four Pieces of Lotte Pattern Figgjo Flint China
Silly me! I thought Figgjo Flint was a person! It’s a place in Norway that produces this magical and whimsical line of tableware. I am very fond of Scandinavian pottery and ceramics. Figgjo is the sole remaining domestic ceramic tableware manufacturer in Norway, and is still being sought for and collected.
Figgjo Egg Cups, Small Creamer and Table Tray set, $79.99

Primitive Folk Art Angel Doll, Pat Beam Original
Doesn’t everyone need a guardian angel looking out for them? In my case, I would choose a folk art angel like this one created by the talented doll artist Pat Beam in 2004. No clue why she’s so serious unless it’s the fact that the ladybug she is toting hasn’t come through with the good luck she was promised.
Vintage Folk Art Doll Figure, $35

Rosenthal Studio Line Cordial Glasses
From the Rosenthal Studio Line, these milk-stemmed cordials are refreshing. The colored stem glass universe is dominated by black and blue stems for sure, with red and green making appearances as well. These are the first milk white stems I’ve ever seen and it was love at first sight. They would be so cool at the table with a black stemmed wine glass.
Five Rosenthal Studio Line White Stemmed Cordial Glasses, $50.
