March, usually the month of blah weather that we endure to get to April, is more promising this year. Easter and St. Patrick’s Day in the same month? Don’t threaten us with a good time. This week’s fresh to market vintage has something just right for both holidays.
Ordinarily, we preach the gospel of you’re good enough to use your good stuff. But when it comes to St. Patrick’s Day, if the Guinness is going to be flowing, we recommend keeping the Waterford under lock and key and using barware you can replace at your favorite thrift store. However, the gorgeous damask Irish linens can survive whatever your hooligan revelers dish out–so use and enjoy them.
As for the nesting Easter eggs with the spiffy designs, for sure use those. Fill them with something delicious, like Cadbury eggs, jelly beans (with extra licorice ones) or a mid century Austrian crystal double strand necklace.
March is definitely looking better than usual. As for our fresh to market vintage–it’s always above average, if we do say so ourselves.
1980s Taylor & Ng Compu-Mug
Taylor & Ng are mostly known for their animal themed mugs, including the infamous “orgy” series. (You’ll have to look those up yourself.) It was delightful to flip over this 1982 geek’s delight mug and discover they had other motifs. I am officially on the hunt for more motifs!

Irish Linen Damask Shamrock Napkin Set
Next Sunday is St. Patricks Day. If you plan to celebrate, this set of NOS vintage Irish Linen Double Damask napkins are just the thing to set the table with. Green and white tiny shamrocks cover these 4 dinner napkins. They are in their original box with a photo marked Colleen Bawn Rock Killarney. I’m sure they were a souvenir from a wonderful vacation many years ago, or perhaps a treasured gift hidden away to be used for a special occasion.

Three Paper Mache Easter Eggs c. 1940s
Nice set of three paper mache eggs that nest inside one another. All are marked “Made in Western Germany” on their floral interiors and measure, in order, 6″, 4″ & 3″ in length.
This set is in very good condition which makes me believe it is possibly unused.
