New Year, new vintage thrifting adventures ahead. We at Vintage Unscripted love holiday content. It’s been nonstop all fall when it’s a heavy hitting lineup of holidays. So here we are in January, in the mood to ready to roll out new fresh to market vintage for a new year full of possibilities.
If you’re a vintage lover and thrifter, late January is a good time for killer scores. Many antique, consignment and vintage shops have sales on inventory that’s lingered on shelves. And thrift stores are often well stocked with treasures that have been hiding at the back of closets and cabinets, donated by people making room for their new holiday loot.
Let’s get to it, here’s this week’s fresh to market vintage…
Heavy Silver-Tone Rolo Chain Necklace
While this isn’t quite the bling worn by musical artists of the time, it is a fairly large and chunky chain necklace. Being a shorter length, this would work well as part of a “neck mess” or in layman’s terms a grouping of necklaces of various lengths and styles. Adding multiple layers in a variety of textures, shapes, and colors creates a variety of looks that can mix or match with almost anything. This necklace would be a great place to start. Not into that look? Worn on its own, it’s still a fun statement piece.
Chunky Rolo Necklace, $35.95

Chefs/Bakers Romantic Salt & Pepper Shakers
No one ever needs to be reminded of Valentine’s Day, which always comes sooner than we think. We usually create our own meal on that day. Mr. Aunt Hattie bakes and I cook. We each have our designated areas to work in and are very careful and kind to each other to create the perfect meal for us. Well, sometimes we squabble, but we have been doing that for over 50 years and still laugh over it afterward. These shakers can be given as a housewarming gift to the right person or couple. I believe making and sharing food is a gift from the kitchen and a gift from the heart.
Salt and Pepper Shakers, $45.99

Vintage USA Camark Calla Lily Vase, #597 (c 1950s)
Venturing into the new year with a sneak peek at spring by way of a USA Camark calla lily vase in a soft shade of pink. Calla lilies are primarily ornamental plants, but they have a few other practical uses. For example, the plant can absorb carbon dioxide and other impurities from the air in its environment. This makes it a great natural air purifier for indoor environments. Granted a ceramic vase won’t serve as an air purifier but now you know that filling it with a bouquet of flowers that inspired the design will! Another perk to buying vintage!
USA Camark #597 Vase, $24

1970s Libbey Tawny Camellia Glasses
Libbey smoky brown glassware owned the 1970s. It’s instantly recognizable from 20 paces, standing out among the shelves full of anonymous clear glassware at a thrift or yard sale. Libbey and the 1970s overall also own the floral glassware crown, particularly daisies. Vintage Libbey is also durable. It’s not restaurant strength, but it was well made for everyday use. It’s always a thrill to find vintage printed glassware that has never seen the inside of a dishwasher. What dishwashers do to printed glassware is like the climax of a horror movie.
Set of 6 Libbey Camellia Glasses, $40.
