What’s better than a summer picnic? The sun is out, the kids are out of school…it’s time for a summer picnic. A blanket, picnic basket, and an outdoor game or two are all you need to head out for a day of sun and fun. This week’s vintage picks are brought to you by Pam of Vintage Renude.
Vintage Wool Plaid Blanket With Fringe
Why I love this: When I think of a picnic blanket this is exactly what I envision. The red plaid, the fringe, the wool that will outlast me if taken care of properly. Keep this in the car for emergencies which may include an impromptu picnic.
Green Wicker Picnic Basket
Why this caught my eye: Growing up my mom had this same picnic basket. It came filled with plastic cups, plates, and utensils so all you needed to add was the food. Taking it to the park for an afternoon of fun and games was a great way to spend the day.
Vintage Wooden Croquet Set
Why I Love This set: As a kid growing up, my dad would set up our croquet game in the backyard. My friends and I would run around the yard chasing those wooden balls for hours. He really knew how to keep a kid occupied. I spent many a summer day outdoors playing games in our yard or at the local park.
Summertime means no school, lazy days, vacation, and most of all picnics outdoors. Grab a blanket, a game or two, and some sandwiches, and head out for a summer picnic. Whether you go to the beach, a park, or just the backyard, enjoy some time outdoors this summer. So there you have it! My prescription for a happy summer and my three vintage picks of the week.
