Our favorite finds from the internet this past week.
Dot (AtticandBarnTreasures.com) – Looking to create a green space? In your home? On your wall? Oh yes, please! Check out this DIY for Living Walls.
JayDee (ThirdShiftVintage.com) – Well, the Minnesota Super Bowl has come and gone. It was exciting to have such a big event here in our state! Millions of people were here and got a chance to enjoy Minnesota. In Winter. They survived our sub-zero temperatures. We survived the temporary increase in population. “Minnesota Nice” prevailed. And one of the nicest stories I read after the Super Bowl was a program where visitors could leave behind their no-longer needed warm jackets and boots for the homeless. Click “wherever you’re going, it’s warmer than here” for the full story, and to see how our “Minnesota Nice” has rubbed off on our visitors. 🙂
Laurie (NextStageVintage.com) – It’s the Olympics! I’ll be binging on curling, nordic skiing, alpine skiing, snowboarding, ski jumping, speed skating, luge and bobsled. Which reminds me there are a lot of small museums that celebrate winter sports history like the New England Ski Museum in Franconia Notch, NH; the Alf Engen Ski Museum in Park City, UT; the Lake Placid Olympic Museum at Mt. Whitehead, NY; and one of my favorite online museums, the New England Lost Ski Areas Project.
Linda (SelectiveSalvage.com) – I love to look at old photos, especially the ones where you have no idea what the backstory was so have to come up with your own. Take a look at this collection of “Weird, Wonderful Photos From The Archives” of the Atlantic to see what you think the story behind them was.
Mary Ellen (AuntHattiesAtticVintage.com) – With all of the excitement over the Super Blue Moon and also the recent SpaceX Launch, I am reminded of seeing a not-so-typical “marble” in my friend’s shop. It was a small glass planet created by Massachusetts artist Josh Simpson.Josh Simpson Glass
Pam (VintageRenude.com) – Need something a little lighthearted to take your mind off the dive bombing of the stock market this week? Me too! How about a look at the 157 new emoji coming to a phone near you this year?
