Our favorite finds from the internet this past week.
Dot (AtticAndBarnTreasures.com) – We made it! Still suffering from Hurricane Irma brain fog I attempted to write a short post for you describing the community spirit and bonds that are formed before, during and after a hurricane. This writer’s article tells it nicely. It is a little long but I believe it a good read. Enjoy!
JayDee (ThirdShiftVintage.com) – Do you ever long to go on an adventure to some place you’ve never been? Some place that is an out-of-the-ordinary destination? Well, I found that place! It’s the Lake Reschen Bell Tower. Including the old church bell tower, there are also over 163 homes and 1,290 acres of land that remain submerged under this artificial lake. I would LOVE to scuba dive there – wouldn’t that be amazing?! Who’s with me?
Laurie (NextStageVintage.com) – From the genius and/or madness department: Dō, the Greenwich Village cookie dough cafe that serves safe-to-eat raw cookie dough. And yes, you have to know it, there are lines. Long lines since their opening. They have a line policy on their delicious website. (Personally, I’m old school and am fully willing to eat Pillsbury right out of the roll.)
Linda (SelectiveSalvage.com) – Flashback to my first apartment after college. “Urban wilding” may be the new expression but the concept has been around for a long time. How fun to read that the millennials are discovering houseplants in a big way.
Mary Ellen (AuntHattiesAtticVintage.com) – After 13 years of service to NASA and the scientific community, the Cassini Spacecraft is giving its last picture show and will plummet down to Saturn’s surface giving readings until it no longer functions. The crash date is September 15th. I know tears will be shed by the many engineers and aerospace workers. I was wondering if they will play some heroic and inspirational music during the descent. This makes me tear up and makes my heart soar! I wish they could hear this The Tornados – Telstar.
Tina (GirlPickers.com) – If you like nature photography, then you’ll like The Naturalist’s Notebook.
