It’s time for our series, Vintage Picks of the Week! We scour the internet looking for just the right piece of vintage to add to our decor, and include ideas on how we think these pieces could be used.
The Picks this week are brought to you by Laurie at NextStage Vintage.
It’s officially summer which means adventures ahead, so how about a few books to help you have more fun.
The Complete Handbook of Bee-keeping
What I Like About It: Bees are fascinating. I love seeing those working honeycombs between panes of glass they have at some science museums. I love watching bees work the flowers and flowering weeds in my gardens. But would I like having my own hives?
How I Would Use It: I would use it to read up on the ins and outs of bees so I could visit a real beekeeper and have a reasonably informed discussion.
The Complete Handbook of Bee-Keeping is available from FeltersCottage on Etsy.
Rocks and Minerals
What I Like About It: Rocks are awesome. And they can be easier to identify than birds and butterflies because they don’t fly away before you find them in the book. Golden Nature books are a true vintage treasure. They are easy to read and easy to follow.
How I Would Use It: I would bring it to a nice rocky beach or on a hike and see how many specimens I could identify.
Rocks and Minerals Golden Nature Guide is available from Throw it Forward on Etsy.
Vintage Italy Travel Books
What I Like About It: Before I go anywhere, I like to read about it. Not the must sees, those I already know about. I like reading about the out of the way sites that you might miss if you didn’t know about them in advance.
How I Would Use It: Alas, for now I would be planning my fantasy Italian tour. But what fun I would have doing it.
So there you have it! My three favorite vintage picks for the week! Make sure to check back to see what items are on the Pick List next week!
