It’s time for our Vintage Picks of the Week! We scour the internet looking for just the right piece of vintage to add to our decor and include ideas on how we think these pieces could be used.
Today’s picks are brought to you by Linda at Selective Salvage.
Pennsylvania Grain Painted Cupboard (17″x 8 “x 6.5”)
What I Like About It: It would be easier to list what I don’t like about this piece….which would be nothing. I love the yellow comb grain painting, the stylized form and most of all, I love the charming carved rooster adorning the back splash.
How I Would Use It: We are cupboard collectors, meaning cupboards of normal stature. I would love to have a collection of miniature cupboards displayed inside one of them and this particular piece is the one I’d start with. It is perfect.
German Apothecary Shop Model (16″x 30″x 16″ )
What I Like About It: This apothecary shop would have been wonderful to visit back in its heyday in the mid 1800’s, but in miniature, it’s even more special. The cabinets and counter outfitted with scales, a mortar & pestle plus an assortment of bottles are fantastic. Top it off with the druggist sign. Heavenly.
How I Would Use It: As a display piece in my bathroom in a spot where I could have fun rearranging all the tiny treasures.
Salesman Sample Fedora (1.5″x 4 “x 3.5”)
What I Like About It: I love salesman sample pieces, regardless of the product they represent. Couple that with the fact that I’m a fan of ’20’s mysteries where the heroes all wore fedoras and you’ll know what I like about this find.
How I Would Use It: As a display piece on our living room shelves right next to the Dashiell Hammett books.
So there you have it! My three favorite vintage picks for the week! Make sure to check back to see what items are on the Pick List next week!
