Vintage Picks of the Week – Black and White Photography

Vintage Picks Of The Week

It’s time for our Vintage Picks of the Week! We scour the internet looking for just the right piece of vintage to add to our decor, and include ideas on how we think these pieces could be used.

The Picks this week are brought to you by Mary Ellen at AuntHattiesAtticVintage. Although these are not technically vintage items per se, the use of black and white photography draws on the body of work of many generations of artists who still continue to create inspire. These selections draw on that past and have an uncanny vintage appeal.

What I Like About It: Flowers are beautiful and most often symmetrical. This is a calming image and contrasts the strength and delicacy of the bloom.
How I Would Use It: I would have a large print of this which increases its power and would love to place it in a bedroom.

Antique Cars

What I Like About It: All I can say is look at that chrome and how complex and beautiful this image and car grille is!
How I Would Use It: Perfect for a living room. It inspires fantasy of travel and a bow to our industrial past.

Surreal Art

What I Like About It: I love surreal art in all of its glory.
How I Would Use It: I would like to hang this to see it every day looking back at me!
