It’s time for our Vintage Picks of the Week! We scour the internet looking for just the right piece of vintage to add to our decor, and include ideas on how we think these pieces could be used.
The Picks this week are brought to you by Mary Ellen at AuntHattiesAtticVintage.
Vintage White Wicker Magazine or Record Holder
What I Like About It:White wicker plays very nicely with all sorts of decor and adds a homey touch in any room or porch.
How I Would Use It:This would look great and be useful perched on a bookcase or dresser in a guest room. Roll some extra towels and place them in here with a magazine and even a small binder with local points of interest and a street map. Put in a little container of those luxurious toiletries, an extra toothbrush and even some aspirin in case your guest has forgotten something. If additional room is open, pop in a few bottles of water.
“Child & Animals in Moonlight” Book Art Illustration by Dorothy P. Lathrop. Circa 1930s
What I Like About It: I’m smitten by this bold but sweet illustration and the magic it casts.
How I Would Use It: I would frame this and hang it nearest the window in my home that shows the rising of the moon. It would remind me to go out and enjoy the moonlight and the moon. I would love to invite a small child out to see it with me. There is nothing like a child’s wonder at things that I often take for granted to reconnect me with my own sense of wonder and delight.
Haeger Art Deco Inspired Cat
What I Like About It: This white cat is a strong and graceful piece of sculpture.
How I Would Use It: I think it would look stunning almost anywhere a real cat would want to lounge.
