Vintage Picks of the Week – Clocks

Vintage Picks Of The Week

It’s time for our series, Vintage Picks of the Week! We scour the internet looking for just the right piece of vintage to add to our decor, and include ideas on how we think these pieces could be used.

The Picks this week are brought to you by Dot at Attic and Barn Treasures.

Boulle-Influenced Miniature Tallcase Shelf Clock

What I Like About It: This clock has it all! Color, detail and an oh-la-la shape.

How I Would Use It: Although this is referred to as a shelf clock it would be absolutely stunning in an entryway or as the statement piece on a hall table. This requires, no demands, to be at eye level to view every detail.

Big Game Hunters Cuckoo Clock

What I Like About It: The detailed carving is a treat for the one that appreciates fine woodworking. Of the many cuckoo clocks I have seen I have never seen one dedicated to the hunter.

How I Would Use It: This of course would be a must for his man cave or perhaps above the mantel in the hunting lodge.

Seth Thomas College Series shelf clock

What I Like About It: The detailing in this clock reminds me of the Victorian era I adore.

How I Would Use It: I would be sure this piece was placed prominently in a room and matched with other Victorian aged pieces. I believe this piece would be suitable for a fine dining room or formal living area.

  1. Great choices to feature. I, too, have never seen a hunting-themed Cuckoo Clock. I just LOVE the first clock. It does have somewhat of a regal look that just demands prominence in the room.
