It’s time for our new series, Vintage Picks of the Week! We scour the internet looking for just the right piece of vintage to add to our decor, and include ideas on how we think these pieces could be used.
The Picks this week are brought to you by JayDee at ThirdShiftVintage.
Antique Dress Form
What I Like About It: I really love the raw look of this dress form! The metal cage and base are amazing, and I love the well-used look of the mannequin body itself.
How I Would Use It: I would love to have this piece in my bedroom, but then very few people would see it. Therefore, I would have to either put this in one of our entryways or in my office. I would display it just the way it is for the most part, but I might add additional accessories depending on the season.
Vintage Mannequin Bust
What I Like About It: I really love mannequins. I love the simple colors and look to this head. I love the way she is looking off to her side with a smile on her face.
How I Would Use It: I think this mannequin head would look great sitting on top a cabinet or credenza – in my office! A reminder to always smile! I could also see it being displayed in a bedroom or guest bathroom.
Vintage Bronze Sculpture
What I Like About It: What’s more beautiful in nature than the human body!? I love the strength this statue displays, and I love that it is made of bronze. The form shows courage and determination.
How I Would Use It: While I think this piece could be displayed in any room of a home or office, I think displaying this statue in an office or creative studio is where it belongs. One look at it and you feel like you want to move mountains!
So there you have it! My three favorite vintage picks for the week! Make sure to check back to see what items are on the Pick List next week!
