Vintage Picks for Friday – Bakelite

Vintage Picks Of The Week

It’s time for our new series, Vintage Picks of the Week! We scour the internet looking for just the right piece of vintage to add to our decor, and include ideas on how we think these pieces could be used.

The picks this week are brought to you by Pam at Vintage Renude.

Philadelphia Bakelite Bracelet

What I Like About It: The most iconic piece of Bakelite jewelry, this is the holy grail for bakelite collectors.

How I Would Use It: If I were able to get my hands on one of these amazing pieces, I would wear it regularly, and when not wearing it, it would have it’s only little shrine on top of my dresser.

Rare Bakelite Injected Dot Necklace with Apple Juice Beads

What I Like About It: This one is a rarity indeed. A fabulous and unusual use of injected dot Bakelite. You won’t see anything like this, it’s truly one of a kind.

How I Would Use It: Well of course I would wear it with that fabulous bracelet! When not in use, it would hang right above the bracelet in a glass case.

1940’s Bakelite Multi-Color Bracelet

What I Like About It: A classic example of the classic Bakelite colors.

How I Would Use It: I would wear it right along with the Philadelphia bracelet, one on each wrist of course.

  1. What bright and gorgeous colors! I remember rooting through my Gram’s jewelry, as well, Pam. We didn’t know, then, we would return to that era to start picking, did we. I don’t collect jewelry, but I love to look at it, and your photos are fabulous!

  2. Thank you Pam, I’m glad you love the beautiful Bakelite necklace it’s great to see it in such good company. I love your blog it’s great that you’re highlighting vintage jewelry. All the best!
